Neither of the previous COLIN winners, Chris Wills or Conor Travers attended COLIN 2009, guaranteeing a new name on the COLIN perpetual trophy (which made its debut at this event). Jon O'Neill finished in second place for the second year in a row, curiously achieving the exact same record as he had in 2008. CoNot winner Dan Vanniasingham finished 3rd, with Junaid Mubeen 4th and Kirk Bevins 5th.
