The Countdown Online Masters 2009 is an online tournament organised by Ben Wilson which started in March 2009. 16 of the best players from recent years were invited to the tournament as well as some "wildcards" from the wider Countdown online community. For the first time, all the games will take place on Apterous.
Play-ins
9 of the 16 "masters" invited were able to compete. These were Charlie Reams, Junaid Mubeen, Kirk Bevins, Jon Corby, Jon O'Neill, Steven Briers, Nick Wainwright, Mark Tournoff, and the 2008 winner Paul Howe. However, Craig Beevers, Paul Gallen Stewart Holden, Conor Travers, Chris Wills, Dan Vanniasingham and David O'Donnell didn't play for various reasons.
