Episode 4735 was broadcast on 14 January 2009, and was the third preliminary of Championship of Champions XIII.

Jon Corby played Richard Brittain, with Jon Corby winning 92 – 52. The Dictionary Corner guest was Andrew Sachs, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

The episode is notable for being the first occurrence of the word "GANDISEEG", which later became an in-joke within the Countdown community, when Richard Brittain buzzed in for the conundrum immediately but could not work out what the answer was. He claims to have said it without the final G, but others have heard a final G, and it has become part of Countdown folklore nonetheless.

This episode marked the first occasion where Rachel Riley solved a numbers game where both contestants had failed to do so.
