James Belshaw was a Countdown contestant in Series 66. His score of 15 is the seventh lowest 15 round score for a male contestant in the show's history.

In 2010 Belshaw appeared on C4's cult reality travel show Coach Trip with his girlfriend Sophia where they lasted 6 days before being red carded.

Nine days prior to Belshaw appearing on our screens with Nick, Rachel and Susie (in late February 2012) he popped up as a contestant on the BBC game show The Weakest Link coming 4th.

Later on in 2012 he appeared again on the BBC on the 2nd series of Breakaway hosted by Nick Hancock, where although not winning, James was the only contestant to breakaway.

He then appeared on Tipping Point in 2013 where he came third and it was reported he considered himself somewhat unlucky with the way the coins fell.

In 2014 he returned to the BBC quiz show arena, as a duo with his girlfriend Sophia, on Pointless where they were eliminated in 3rd and 4th positions on consecutive shows. Both times they were eliminated on scores of under 30 points.

In 2015 Belshaw once again pitted his Witt's on another BBC quiz show. With Richard Osman hosting, Belshaw came 2nd on the show Two Tribes.

Later in 2015 we saw Belshaw on C4's Benchmark where he reached the head to head at his first attempt.

In early 2016 Belshaw appeared once again as a duo with his girlfriend Sophia on the BBC. James tested his driving skills on the Dermot O'leary fronted gameshow The Getaway Car which was filmed in Cape Town South Africa.

Later in 2016 Belshaw secured a cash prize when he appeared as a juror on C4's award winning quiz show The Question Jury.

Aside from quiz/competitive shows Belshaw has appeared on British TV in other guises. In 2012 he appeared as his self created superhero Gymsuper5 on Morgan Spurlocks New Britannia episode 5 on Sky Atlantic. As a full time passenger transport professional, this gained Belshaw the role in C5's 2014 documentary Britain's deadliest roads as the chauffeur driving from Heathrow to the west end. In early 2016 Belshaw appeared in A speaking role as the bouncer in C4's mockumentary show Lookalikes.

Belshaw first appeared in the public eye when he and his girlfriend Sophia broke a Guinness World Record in 2005. They took the record of the longest continuous kiss where they smooched for 31 hours 30 minutes and 30 seconds. They held the record until 2010 when it was beaten.

Belshaw has never ruled out an attempt at reapplying for a 2nd go in the the challengers seat.
