Ray Wilding is probably one of the most talented apterites not to have appeared on Countdown. He was a finalist in Apterous Simulation of a Series 6 and a two-time qualifier in the Countdown Online Masters. He also is very good at updating the dictionary, thus knows all the new words before anyone else.
