Stemming

Stemming is a technique whereby one valid word plus a letter equals another valid word.
Although not considered the most useful technique, it can be handy for common words and fruitful stems.
The most famous "stem" is RETAINS, which stems with 19 of the 26 letters of the alphabet, as detailed below (the words listed are all valid as of January 2023).
