I can no longer be convinced that the production staff did not know about Volante's absence. Have a listen to [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kovi9Ug1Z48&t=87s this] - Stewart says that he was "somewhere in the outback of Australia". That, and the fact that both Ivor Jones and Ian Clayton were 'on the premises', so could have easily recorded a couple of wrong answers. Are there any sources I should be aware of?--[[User:Launchballer|Launchballer]] 22:43, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

Sorry that was from memory as I recall that there was an article in the press about it, but I'll let you know if I find any sources.

Having listened to that clip, what I don't understand is, if Ivor Jones and Ian Clayton were there and one of them did replace Ian Volante, why were they able to show their faces and names at the start along with Peter Effer, yet had to edit them out of the first round? Very mysterious!

I can no longer be convinced that the production staff did not know about Volante's absence. Have a listen to this - Stewart says that he was "somewhere in the outback of Australia". That, and the fact that both Ivor Jones and Ian Clayton were 'on the premises', so could have easily recorded a couple of wrong answers.
