Countdown transmission times

Countdown is broadcast by Channel 4 at 15:25 on Mondays to Fridays most weeks throughout the year. The usual exceptions are during public holidays, when times might vary, and during the Christmas / New Year break and the Cheltenham Festival and Glorious Goodwood race weeks when the programme is suspended. In 2008 there is to be a summer break following the programme on Friday 25th July, restarting on Monday 25th August.

In addition to all of the +1 channels, most programmes are repeated on three occasions:

1. on More4 at around 03:00 on the night immediately following the first transmission
2. on Channel 4 at around 05:15 in the early morning, two and half days after the first transmission
3. on S4C (terrestrial channel only) at 14:15 on Monday to Friday afternoons, currently eighteen working days after the first transmission.

More4 and the early morning Channel 4 repeat times vary slightly from day to day.

The actual date on which a programme is repeated on S4C may vary, depending on channel scheduling. The eighteen day delay is correct on 6th August 2008. During the week 4th - 8th August, the S4C transmission is one hour earlier, at 13:15, due to coverage of the National Eisteddfod at Cardiff. In an attempt to catch up, S4C are showing two programmes daily during the week 11th - 15th August, at 13:30 and 14:15. By the end of that week, they should be only thirteen working days behind.

In addition, programmes can be watched using 4oD, Channel 4's on-demand service, at any time up to thirty days after the first transmission.

For two weeks of the summer break, 11th - 22nd August, Channel 4 are showing repeats of recent programmes, at an earlier time of 14:45. These repeats are not themselves being repeated on More4, etc. They will, however, be available for viewing using 4oD.
