Revision as of 13:46, 1 June 2009

Countdown is broadcast by Channel 4 at 15:25 on Mondays to Fridays most weeks throughout the year. The usual exceptions are during public holidays, when times might vary, and during the Christmas / New Year break and the Cheltenham Festival and Glorious Goodwood race weeks when the programme is suspended. As from 2008, Countdown takes a four week break in the summer. In 2009, the break will be 27 July to 21 August.

In addition to all of the +1 channels, most programmes are repeated on two occasions:

  1. on Channel 4 at around 05:15 in the early morning, two and half days after the first transmission
  2. on S4C (analogue terrestrial channel only) at 14:15 on Monday to Friday afternoons

The early morning Channel 4 repeat times vary slightly from day to day.

From 1 June 2009 S4C repeats are twelve working days behind C4.

Countdown used to be shown also on More4, but this practice stopped at the end of 2008.

In addition, programmes can be watched using 4oD, Channel 4's on-demand service, at any time up to thirty days after the first transmission.
