Revision as of 10:36, 24 March 2010

Countdown is broadcast by Channel 4 at 15:25 on Mondays to Fridays most weeks throughout the year. The usual exceptions are during public holidays, when times might vary, and during the Christmas / New Year break and the Cheltenham Festival and Glorious Goodwood race weeks when the programme is suspended. Since 2008, the programme has also taken a four week break during the summer and at Christmas.

In addition to all of the +1 channels, most programmes are repeated twice:

  • early morning on Channel 4 at around 5 a.m, about 40 hours after first transmission
  • on S4C (analogue terrestrial channel only) at 14:15 on Monday to Friday afternoons (only until digital switchover is complete on 31st March 2010)

From the start of Series 62, S4C is one episode behind the first Channel 4 showing.

The early morning Channel 4 repeat, which was dropped for the latter stages of Series 61, is reintroduced from the start of Series 62.

Countdown programmes used to have an additional repeat showing on More4, but this practice stopped at the end of 2008

In addition, programmes can be watched using 4oD, Channel 4's on-demand service, at any time up to thirty days after the first transmission.
