Revision as of 23:08, 3 November 2010

Countdown is broadcast by Channel 4 at 15:25 (15:15 as from start of Series 64) on Mondays to Fridays most weeks throughout the year. The usual exceptions are during public holidays, when times might vary, and during the Christmas / New Year break and when Channel 4 gives extensive coverage to such race meetings as the Cheltenham Festival and Glorious Goodwood when the programme is suspended.

In addition to the +1 channel, most programmes are repeated just once:

  • early morning on Channel 4 at around 5 a.m, about 40 hours after first transmission

(This early morning repeat is suspended for the current season of specials and nostagic episodes.)

Countdown programmes used to have an additional repeat showing on More4, but this practice stopped at the end of 2008.

They were also given a showing on S4C a few days after the first Channel 4 tranmission, but this ceased with the completion of the digital switchover in Wales in March 2010.

Programmes can, however, be watched using 4oD, Channel 4's on-demand service, at any time up to thirty days after the first transmission.
