Kenneth Williams was a guest on Countdown.
Widely regarded as one of the funniest British talents of all time, he appeared in more Carry On films than any other actor and made the role of the Willo the Wisp narrator of his own. After his death, it emerged that Williams hated doing Countdown and slagged off the show (and his own performance on it) in his diaries.
He was the second person to appear as a guest in Dictionary Corner, following Ted Moult.
He sadly passed away on 15 April 1988.
