Should Kate Ogilvie and Richard Saldanha be added to this page?  They didn't get teapots for becoming champions, but they were awarded them after their final. (I've amended the Teapot page appropriately.)  If we change the title of this page to "teapot winners" (which I personally tend to favour - and I guess that's what it really covers - but I can see why weren't not doing it!), then I would definitely say 'no'.

It seems I made a bit of a cock-up with this, as winners before about Series 31 did not actually get teapots. If someone can remind me of the threshold then I will fix it. Soo 04:02, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Kate Ogilvie was the first to get a teapot, way back in series 39. All champions from her onwards, plus that woman who scored 0 points, got teapots. Nebagram 14:28, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
For some reason Octochamps and Viscounts are not listed on this page (such as Julian Fell and Ben Wilson), which is why I add those categories to this category. I suppose with less than 100 octochamps, of which some came before Series 31, I could just add the articles to the cat myself. Mglovesfun 22:25, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

An owner but not a winner?

Just a query - am I eligible for listing on this page? Although I lost against Ariane Sherine she gave me her teapot afterwards. Just a thought. :-) (question by Crispy)

Strictly according to just the title, yes. But then Ariane Sherine would have to be removed. As would those hoards of contestants who have given them to mum, girlfriend, etc, which, of course would be totally unmanageable. The page does clarify the criterion for inclusion - those who have won a teapot ..., so maybe it's the title of the page which is not quite correct. drawoh 21:58, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

"Teapot owners"?

Going by what Crispy and Howard have said, maybe this should just be called something like "Episode winners" or "Champion's chair warmers". Countdown Kid 12:31, 27 June 2009 (BST)

If it's to be restricted to those who won an episode after the teapot was introduced as a prize, then I'd favour the title "Teapot winners". Indeed, on any occasion that I add that category to anyone in a way other than copy and paste, I invariably type Teapot winners and then see it's come up in red. Whatever, any change would be laborious, as there would be nearly 800 pages to edit; I don't think there's a way to redirect categories. drawoh 13:06, 27 June 2009 (BST)

Addition of Series 38 finalists

Should Kate Ogilvie and Richard Saldanha be added to this page? They didn't get teapots for becoming champions, but they were awarded them after their final. (I've amended the Teapot page appropriately.) If we change the title of this page to "teapot winners" (which I personally tend to favour - and I guess that's what it really covers - but I can see why weren't not doing it!), then I would definitely say 'no'.
