Countdown is broadcast by Channel 4 at 15:25 on Mondays to Fridays most weeks throughout the year.  The usual exceptions are during public holidays, when times might vary, and during the Christmas / New Year break and the Cheltenham Festival and Glorious Goodwood race weeks when the programme is suspended.  Since 2008, the programme has also taken a four week break during the summer and at Christmas.
