Countdown is broadcast by Channel 4 at 15:25 on Mondays to Fridays most weeks throughout the year. The usual exceptions are during public holidays, when times might vary, and during the Christmas / New Year break and when Channel 4 gives extensive coverage to such race meetings as the Cheltenham Festival and Glorious Goodwood when the programme is suspended.
In addition to the +1 channel, most programmes are repeated just once:
- early morning on Channel 4 at around 5 a.m, about 40 hours after first transmission
(This early morning repeat is suspended for the current season of specials and nostagic episodes.)
Countdown programmes used to have an additional repeat showing on More4, but this practice stopped at the end of 2008.
