Countdown transmission times
Countdown is broadcast by Channel 4 at 15:25 on Mondays to Fridays most weeks throughout the year. The usual exceptions are during public holidays, when times might vary, and during the Christmas / New Year break and the Cheltenham Festival and Glorious Goodwood race weeks when the programme is suspended. For the first time, Countdown took a four week summer break in 2008. It's reported that a similar break will happen in 2009.
In addition to all of the +1 channels, most programmes are repeated on two occasions:
- on Channel 4 at around 05:15 in the early morning, two and half days after the first transmission
- on S4C (analogue terrestrial channel only) at 14:15 on Monday to Friday afternoons
The early morning Channel 4 repeat times vary slightly from day to day.
From the start of COC13, S4C programmes are one working day behind the first C4 transmission. However, Countdown will not be shown on S4C on Wed - Fri 6-8 May due to coverage of racing. From 11 May, progammes will be four working days behind C4.
More4 appears to have dropped Countdown repeats as from the start of COC13.
In addition, programmes can be watched using 4oD, Channel 4's on-demand service, at any time up to thirty days after the first transmission.
Countdown is taking its annual break for the Cheltenham Festival next week, and will not be transmitting, either on Channel 4 or S4C, from Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th March.
