Naween Fernando was a viscount in and the runner-up of Series 1 of Letters and Numbers. In his début game, he was drawn against Kashi Ross, who was just one game away from retiring unbeaten, but this did not stop him from more than doubling her score, with the final outcome being 73 – 32.

Fernando very comfortably won five further heats (including the show's second highest score of 94), as well as his quarter-final, for which he returned as #2 seed. He then beat Dom Saric to advance to the Series 1 grand final, but was finally outclassed by his mind-sport rival Andrew Fisher who beat him here on a crucial conundrum.

Fernando returned to Letters and Numbers in 2012 to compete in its equivalent of a Championship of Champions. Here, he arguably gained revenge on Andrew Fisher by winning his quarter-final when Fisher did not, before succumbing in the semi-final to the tournament's eventual winner, Series 4 champion Sam Gaffney.
