Les Dennis is a guest (and was a substitute presenter) on Countdown. He is a comedian, all-round national treasure, actor and TV presenter. He was famous for presenting the game show, Family Fortunes, for 15 years. He hosted eight shows of Series 86, after Colin Murray tested positive for COVID-19. And then from 2 February to 6 February 2026, he once again stood in for Murray owing to the latter having back pain issues.
Dennis was paid tribute to on Countdown with the conundrum scramble of LLESDENYS in the episode broadcast on 18 October 2017, in which he was not involved.
