Mike Bubbins is a guest on Countdown. He is a Welsh comedian, actor and former P.E. teacher who is perhaps best known as the creator, co-writer and star of the BBC sitcom, Mammoth. He also co-hosts the podcast of The Socially Distant Sports Bar, and hosts Scrum V Top 5 for BBC Wales. Outside of the above, he has competed on and won editions of Richard Osman's House of Games and Celebrity Mastermind in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
Of note is that Susie Dent did not present her usual of Origins of Words slot during Bubbins' debut week as she was suffering from toothache.
