Countdown transmission times

From Countdown
Revision as of 11:47, 2 December 2009 by Drawoh (talk | contribs) (another interruption for racing)

Countdown is broadcast by Channel 4 at 15:25 on Mondays to Fridays most weeks throughout the year. The usual exceptions are during public holidays, when times might vary, and during the Christmas / New Year break and the Cheltenham Festival and Glorious Goodwood race weeks when the programme is suspended. Since 2008, the programme has also taken a four week break during the summer and at Christmas.

In addition to all of the +1 channels, most programmes are repeated just once:

  1. on S4C (analogue terrestrial channel only) at 14:15 on Monday to Friday afternoons

S4C is currently (2nd December 2009) seven programmes behind C4. S4C transmissions will be interrupted once again on Friday 11th December for coverage of racing from Cheltenham. As C4 goes into the final week of Series 61, S4C will then be eight episodes behind.

Until recently, Countdown programmes had two further repeat showings

  1. on More4, but this practice stopped at the end of 2008
  2. early morning on Channel 4, but this appears to have stopped with effect from the programme first transmitted on 5th November 2009.

In addition, programmes can be watched using 4oD, Channel 4's on-demand service, at any time up to thirty days after the first transmission.
