Category talk:Contestants on other game shows

From Countdown
Revision as of 23:32, 14 October 2010 by Vande (talk | contribs) (reply)

At the moment, the general content of this category is regular Countdown contestants who have also been on other game shows as regular contestants. Of course, anyone whose presence on the wiki is due to being involved in the Countdown online community and has been on some other game show can be listed as well.

The category may have been my idea, but I'd like a consensus on this before committing to anything: Should we also include panellists/contestants on celebrity game shows, which would include many of the hosts and DC guests?

But I guess it's only right to include Stephen Fry - after all, he was a regular contestant on regular University Challenge before he became famous for other things. -- smjg 13:10, 11 October 2010 (BST)

Of course, I think it goes without saying that Calendar Countdown, Countdown Masters and Celebrity Countdown don't count as "other" game shows. But do you think foreign versions of Countdown (which may have different names) should count? Or should these have another category again? -- smjg 00:12, 15 October 2010 (BST)

I think there is only one example of this so far - Andrew Fisher, who I added to the category today. So, it doesn't really justify another category, unless of course you are going to start including every contestant who appears on those shows in this wiki. I was thinking a while ago, it would be cool if there was a wiki of all game show contestants (British at least), for all sorts of cross-referencing fun, but I don't know who would want to take this kind of task on. Also, the slightly irritating practice of not including surnames on some shows, such as Pointless would make this a bit tricky. Anyway, went off on a tangent a bit there, so enough for now.

ps One other one I added today had appeared on a radio quiz show, but that's a whole new ball game. --Vande 00:32, 15 October 2010 (BST)
