8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 15, Episode 1 was a special episode broadcast on 19 January 2018, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 15.

Acting Team Captain Kevin Bridges and Regular Jon Richardson were the contestants, along with Jessica Knappett and Joe Wilkinson who were their teammates respectively, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Jon Richardson, with the assistance of Joe Wilkinson, winning by 39 in an 7-rounder and they won a Countdown horse riding kit - helmets and hobby-horses.

Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Dr John Cooper Clarke, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

Just before Round 5, all players had to compose a poem for Dr John Cooper Clarke to hear and he would choose who had the best one. He felt that Jon's poem was the best, thus five points were awarded to his team.

Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

1) In Round 1, the original selection of letters could've been PISGSITER, but due to Joe Wilkinson's desire to have PISSING made Rachel to swap letters during the selection. The final selection was written below. Also, "Jimmy" hula hooped 4 rings at a time, adding each one during 30 second timer, and then, after time ran out, hula hooped one ring around his foot, while standing on a head and asking for declarations.

2) In Round 2, Kevin's and Jon's solution is assumed to be identical to Joe's as they were not asked to declare their solution.

3) In Round 3, while reading the "Spell Book", Jimmy turned Rachel into tortoise, Susie into an office plant and Jon into a dog in sweater. After time ran out, Jimmy asked dog for declaration. Jon declared three-lettered word and said that "he" wanted to have this in "his" head - PAT - then Joe patted the dog.

4) In Round 4, Kevin correctly solved the Numbers Round, but was not awarded for this, as he was not playing. His solution written below in "Others".

4) In Round 6, while reading a newspaper with headline "Full Moon Tonight!", Jimmy slowly turning into a werewolf during 30-second timer.

NOTE 1: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
