William Bradford, a hotelier from Cambridge, first appeared in Series 3, beating 7-time winner Allan Simmons, and went on to become the first octochamp in Countdown history.

Also know as Bill, he is a top Scrabble player. His son, Peter, appeared on the show in Series 25.
