8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 8, Episode 4 was a special episode broadcast on 24 March 2016, as part of 8 out of 10 Cats Mash-ups Series 8.
8 Out of 10 Cats regulars Sean Lock and Jon Richardson were the contestants, along with Kevin Bridges and Rebecca Front, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.
The match saw Jon Richardson, with the assistance of Rebecca Front, winning 40 – 7 in an 7-rounder.
Rachel Riley was the arithmetician for this episode. The Dictionary Corner guest was Joe Lycett, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
Notably, in Round 1 when Rachel re-arranged to form Sean's word, the remaining letters spelled out ARSOLE, which could be pronounced for the rude word "ARSEHOLE" and prompted Susie Dent to check for the validity of that word. In Round 4, as Jon Richardson failed to declare he had 147, no points were awarded despite having the correct solution.
Also, although Sean Lock buzzed the correct answer about 5 seconds after the clock stopped for the conundrum, they were unable to obtain any more points.
There was a bonus round called "Mister and Mister" played in between the second Teaser and Round 5 between Sean and Jon; 5 points were awarded to Jon's Team for winning the game.
NOTE: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
