8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 15, Episode 2 was a special episode broadcast on 26 January 2018, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 15.
Acting Team Captains Lee Mack and Alan Carr were the contestants, along with Victoria Coren Mitchell and Dane Baptiste who were their teammates respectively, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.
The match saw Lee Mack, with the assistance of Victoria Coren Mitchell, winning by 52 – 41 in an 8-rounder and they won a Countdown lawn mower.
Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Sam Simmons, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:
1) In Round 1, Bavarian dancers team made a performance.
2) In Round 3, Jimmy pressed the "DO NOT PRESS" button. While studio turned red, after the end of timer "Susie" was catapulted from the Dictionary Corner to the another side of the studio.
3) In Round 4, Rachel didn't solve the answer as quickly as she could and she declared the correct solution only after Round 6.
4) In Round 7, Jimmy and Rachel played ping-pong during 30-second timer.
NOTE 1: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
NOTE 2: In Round 5, Alan Carr declared 5-lettered word, but then after Dane said word PAID, he changed his mind and declared 6-lettered word REPAID. Despite, that was against the rules and spirit of the game, his team received 6 points.
NOTE 3: In Round 7, after an argument with Susie, Victoria Coren Mitchell found an another 7-lettered word and, despite it is against the rules, her team received 7 points for this, to make it fair after giving points to Alan Carr in Round 5.
