Amol Rajan is a guest on Countdown. He was the editor of The Independent from 2013 until they dropped their print edition in 2016. He then joined BBC News as their Media Editor to present The Media Show and as of 2021, Today, both on BBC Radio 4. On 18 August 2022, he was announced as the new host of University Challenge from 2023.
Rajan was the last debut guest during Nick Hewer's tenure as presenter.
