Cindy Ritson
Cindy Ritson was the production assistant on Countdown for nearly 32 years. She is notable for being the last original member of the Countdown team, from its inception in 1982. This record stood since the departure of Carol Vorderman in 2008.
It has been suggested that some other members such as camera crew have been on the series as long, but as they are not credited this cannot be confirmed.
On 2 November 2009, her 27-year contribution to the programme was acknowledged at the beginning of the show.
Her last programme as production assistant was broadcast on 7 August 2014, and she was even seen on screen at the beginning of the show, and the conundrum MATECINDY was a tribute to her.
