The gap between her first and second sets of appearances in Dictionary Corner was nineteen years, four months and 27 days apart that broke Carol Thatcher's record of sixteen years, one month and one day. Britton's record stood until it was beaten by Stephen Fry's record of twenty years, eight months and 24 days. One contributory factor to her return was her narration of a 2019 documentary, Britain's Favourite Game Shows, which discussed Countdown.
