Hyper Nasty
Hyper Nasty is a Countdown variant played on Apterous, which, as one might imagine, is a blend of Hyper and Nasty.
The numbers format was used for the two Numberists specials on ZoomDown.
Letters rounds
Letters rounds have 12 letters rather than 9, with 4 to 6 vowels, and the most common letter in the relevant language will not appear in the selections. These are: E in English (including CSW), French, Dutch, and German; A in Spanish and Portuguese; Α (alpha) in Greek; I in Italian and Finnish; D in Welsh; И in Russian; and י in Hebrew. Scoring is also said to be "nasty", as it is done by Gevin scoring, so 12-letter words are worth 12 points instead of 24.
Numbers rounds
Numbers rounds have 8-number selections, including to 1 to 4 large numbers drawn from 12, 37, 62, 87, 137, and 187. There are three of each of the standard small numbers. The target is between 1000 and 9999.
Conundrums
Conundrums can be any 12-letter word (except those with anagrams), including very obscure words, plurals and so forth.
