How about if we put all these pages in project namespace? I've found a way the Countdown: prefix can be "removed" by moving it off the screen with a template like this: {{DISPLAYTITLE:<span style="position:absolute; top:-3em">Countdown:</span>{{{1}}}}}. TobyMcDonald 22:09, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

Make titles of Co-event pages more consistent

Can we at least agree that there aren't actually any official guidelines for this atm, and that inconsistency is an issue? There's also nowhere that says we need to use abbreviations for titles on this wiki - they can always be mentioned in the article. A couple of points I've found on Wikipedia are:

1. "Consistency – The title is consistent with the pattern of similar articles' titles" (source)

2. "Always consider whether it is better to write a word or phrase out in full, thus avoiding potential confusion for those not familiar with its abbreviation" (source)

Another thing is the individual games in Co-events. Titles like "Episode COLIN20051" are really confusing. So I've figured out a new system that makes the titles a lot nicer, like "Countdown in Lincoln 2005/Game 1". TobyMcDonald 17:50, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

I am referring to the titles used by the organisers, because they are those titles and shouldn't be changed as I see it. Agreed on the games but it will need a separate discussion as to the use of "Episode" as the {{episode table}} will automatically give it such a name. As an example, the Liverpool event coming up has been named "Co:Liv II" on c4c, "Countdown in Liverpool 2024" on the Facebook group, and "Co:Liverpool 2024" on the wiki, so there's no official title there. Surely the only official titles are things like "CoLei Summer Special", "CobliviLon" and "Co:LeedsLeedsLeeds", etc.? TobyMcDonald 00:57, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

I think it's also worth noting that the titles of episode pages on this wiki are unofficial. It was also agreed to change the Catsdown episodes a few years ago. I've come up with my own list, which I think combines the best of both worlds, keeping some official names, which I've detailed here. TobyMcDonald 00:09, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

Delete the minor online tournaments

We should probably also consider how many people care about these pages, especially the ones that don't even have any recaps or don't explain how the tournament worked. We also don't want to make extra work for ourselves as it's already a lot of work to maintain everything else.

A similar argument could possibly be made for most people in Category:People who have not appeared on Countdown, which could vastly reduce the number of red links if we don't link them anymore. TobyMcDonald 17:50, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

There is no argument that will wash with me for deleting this stuff; just because it is not relevant in 2024 doesn't make it delete-able. I did a lot of work on doing the wiki pages for JOLT, Spoilers 2020, Apterous Masters, so really I am arguing the direct opposite; that wikipages for apto tourneys should be encouraged. As for the category, I agree in theory but they were arguable at the time through ZoomDown, and I would argue that anyone with many red links from co-events should get a page. It's been one of my long-standing ideas that Special:WantedPages should have as few red links in possible. The Doctor (talk | contribs) 23:10, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

Page names of non-regular series
