Episode CLAN1, billed as Celebrity Letters and Numbers Series 1, Episode 1 was a special episode broadcast on 2 October 2021 as part of Celebrity Letters and Numbers.
Suren Jayemanne, Jennifer Wong and Merrick Watts were the contestants, while Michael Hing reprised his role as the host.
The match saw Suren Jayemanne winning by 52 – 36 – 44 and he won the 1981 edition of "B to C" section form the Oceaniapaedia encyclopedia.
Lily Serna was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Bridie Connell, and the lexicographer was David Astle.
NOTE 1: In this version, three players competing with each other instead of traditional two. Also, this version notably uses a scoring system whereby all players receive points for each valid word or solution, even if beaten by their opponents (equivalent to them receiving their "raw scores"). In Numbers Rounds, players receive points for their declarations, even if the solutions for players' declarations were not provided in the show, assuming they were cut out from broadcasting to speed up the show.
NOTE 2: In Round 5, Suren declared 913, but the solution led to the result of 917, but he still receives 7 points for his solution. It is unknown, did he receive 7 points for this solution or for the alternative answer ALPINES which was given by Suren in the previous round.
