Virtually twelve years before his debut in Dictionary Corner, Bremner made a cameo appearance in character as then Prime Minister Gordon Brown to select the letters on 2 November 2007 as part of celebrating the 25th birthday of Countdown.

From 21 December to 23 December 2020 and 13 January 2021, he was the first guest under Colin Murray's tenure as substitute presenter as well as first guest under Anne Robinson's tenure as presenter from 28 June to 1 July 2021.
