James Sinclair was an octochamp and the runner-up of series 25. Scoring 395 points over the course of his run, he returned for the finals of the series as #2 seed, beating Roly Hawkes in a close game in the quarter-final and Dave Rickard in the semi-finals. However, James was outclassed by the brilliant Don Reid in the final, losing 97-56. James did not play in Championship of Champions VII, but did play in the supreme championship, where he lost to Ian Bebbington in the first round.
