Kenneth Williams (1926-88) was a guest on Countdown.

Widely regarded as one of the funniest British talents of all time, he appeared in more Carry On films than any other actor, and made the role of Willo the Wisp narrator his own. After his death it emerged that Williams hated doing Countdown and slagged off the show (and his own performance on it) in his diaries.

He was the second person to appear as a guest in Dictionary Corner, following Ted Moult. In a macabre coincidence, both Moult and Williams would later die by their own hands.
