Ricky Tomlinson is a guest on Countdown. They once arranged for a Ricky Tomlinson lookalike to appear as a contestant while the real Ricky Tomlinson sat in Dictionary Corner.
In 2017, he accused Richard Whiteley of being a spy, which Kathryn Apanowicz described as a "load of tripe". Why he agreed to be on Countdown whilst Carol Vorderman was still on the show is unknown and suggests that he made a false claim against Whiteley.
