I received an email from Andy with some extra info, feel free to merge this into the article if anyone has time:

Although it is true that I went on to appear twice more on 15-to-1, I had already appeared on it once before in 1993. I have never appeared on Cross Wits or Chain Letters. As far as I know I am not related to Gordon. He does not appear on any of the 3 family trees that I've compiled. Obviously, if you go back far enough then we are all related!!
There are a couple of things you may think relevant to add (up to you, of course): I also contributed puzzles to the Countdown magazine; and I am responsible for the introduction of the rule that contestants are not permitted to select more than 5 vowels. This is because I kept picking 6 in my semi-final (permitted at the time) and Mark Nyman decided to amend the rules for future series to prevent contestants from selecting 6 or more, which makes the game difficult or unplayable!

And a further correction:

Actually it was John Meade who changed the rules, not Mark. Sorry.

Charlie, why don’t you edit this wiki much any more? I’m just wondering why you’re not around much, have you fell out of love with the game or what?. Also I suspect that User:TheWikiMan is an Ashton Hancock sockpuppet. Paul
Other people do a very good job of maintaining this site, so my time is better invested in the kind of contributions only I can make (e.g. working on apterous). Charlie 22:31, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
Actually, I think that was an Ashton sockpuppet.--Launchballer 22:52, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
