Joe Lycett was a guest on Countdown, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and a contestant on the latter show. He is a stand-up comedian, usually seen on shows like 8 Out of 10 Cats.

He provided one of the most famous anecdotes in the show's history, in Episode Cats47 where he told a story about how he persuaded a local council to rescind a parking fine. The anecdote went viral on social media, such as Twitter and YouTube; on the strength of said tale, he was given his own consumer advice program, Joe Lycett's Got Your Back, for which in 2020, he changed his name by deed poll to Hugo Boss as a manner of protest against the actions of the clothing company with the same name. He changed his name back to Joe Lycett later that year — he did not appear on either Countdown or 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown using this name.
