Martyn Pegram
Martyn Pegram was a contestant in Series 83. He was a Sales Account Director, and Apterite from Gosport, Hampshire. After his TV appearance, he made his co-event debut at Co:Reading 2024 where he won the 'Best Newcomer' prize.
He later appeared in ZoomDown Series 4 and 5; in his first appearance he beat Daaniyal Ali but then lost to Gabriel Thallon. In his second debut, he marked his return against incumbent Brandin Allan with a convincing win, and scored 108 points in the process. He ultimately powered his way to Tetrachampdom with three further victories, establishing himself as the third seed at the time with 411 points. Ultimately coming back as the fourth seed, his quarter-final was a rematch against Gabriel Thallon; the game went to a crucial conundrum with every round either being a max or non-scoring, but Gabriel quickly turned STEAMVEER into METAVERSE to knock Pegram out of the tournament.
