Andrew McNamara was a finalist in Series 64. He was a maths teacher from Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
McNamara debuted on 30 March 2011, beating Mark Gavin 83 – 74 on the crucial conundrum INSTIDUTE, which neither player was able to unscramble in the time. He won four further heats before losing on another unsolved crucial to Colin Young, making him #7 seed for the series finals. However, he was defeated in the quarter-final by eventual series winner Edward McCullagh.
