There have been two major Countdown game formats known as the 15-round format:
- The old or original 15-round format (LLLLNLLLLNLLLNC), used from Series 46 (24 September 2001) to Series 68 (22 March 2013).
- The new 15-round format (LLNLLNLLNLLLLNC), used since Series 68 (25 March 2013).
- The "Masters" 15-round format, effectively five legs of LNC (one per day).
