Alan in the audience during The 2000th Edition
Alan Hawkshaw wrote the clock music for Countdown and themes for numerous other programmes.
He sadly passed away on 16 October 2021. He became the third Countdown-related person to pass away in the space of a year, following Des O'Connor and Marcel Stellman.
