8 Out of 10 Cats regulars Jon Richardson and Sean Lock were the contestants, along with Bill Bailey and Josh Widdicombe who were their teammates, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.
The match saw Jon Richardson, with the assistance of Josh Widdicombe, winning by 30 – 21 in an 8-rounder and they won a set of Countdown wet weather gear consisting of an umbrella and a poncho.
Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician, and Joe Wilkinson helped her out from round 5 onwards. The Dictionary Corner guest was Jake Yapp, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:
1) During the 30 seconds in Round 5, the scene from the studio was interrupted twice with Jimmy soaking in a hot tub with three bikini-clad ladies, making this the first time the letters were not seen for the entire duration of the round.
2) In the Conundrum, Bill and Sean got the answer eventually after joking about Winston Churchill, but as the time was considerably up when they got it, no points were awarded. Also, Jon and Josh buzzed in when the last second lit up, however to differentiate who got it first, it is stated as 29.9 seconds.
