8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 4 was a series of seven special episodes that began on 6 June 2014 and ended on 18 July 2014.
While Countdown officially switched dictionaries from the OED3 to ODP with the start of Series 71 since 30 June 2014, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown did not follow suit and continued to use OED3 up until the end of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 28 on 22 August 2025. However, all references starting with Episode Cats21 and ending with Episode Cats172 were made using the ODP.
Fabio, the show's long-time permanent male model, made his debut on the show in Episode Cats18. Also, in Episode Cats19, for the first time in the show's history, more than nine letters were used in a round as well.
