Unfortunately, in this fifth game, he ran into returning contestant and fellow Apterite Patrick Thompson, who dethroned Bashford thanks to a 14-max game, although Bashford did have the lead early on.
In a very long and strong series, Bashford's four wins and 463 points were eventually enough to qualify for the series finals as the eighth seed, where coincidentally he will play a rematch against Patrick, who qualified as the No. 1 seed for the finals.
