Series 93 is the current series of Countdown. It commenced on 5 January 2026, and will conclude on 26 June 2026.
Apterites that have appeared in the series to date include Megel Barker, Izyan Bashiruddin, James Judge, Harry Wilson, Daniel Face, Callum Ridley, Euan Crabb, Luke Selway, Sam Wilders, Tom Lindsay, Ian Kinsella, Louise Kempson, Tom Bashford, Patrick Thompson, Charlie Harrison and Archie Becks. Though it was noted that Ridley only joined after the recording of all of his appearances.
Series 93 is arguably the strongest series of Countdown since Series 69, with it becoming only the second series to date (after the aforementioned Series 69) to have three members of the 900 club. All three of them notably only scored centuries during their octoruns, which was a first for any 15-round series. As another incredible noteworthy first for a series, there were two octochamps who solved all eight of their conundrums in their preliminary games. In doing so, Thompson and Harrison additionally both broke Tom Carey's long-standing record for the fastest time to solve them although Thompson was faster to hold the outright record.
Les Dennis stood in as presenter from 2 to 6 February due to Colin Murray suffering from back pain, making this the fourth series to have more than one presenter following Series 83, 84 and 86. The following week's guest, Mel Schilling, was suffering from cancer at the time and then sadly died of the disease on 24 March.
Several episodes aired at 15:40: those broadcast in the week of 9 March 2026 due to Channel 4's coverage of the 2026 Paralympics, and an episode broadcast on 6 April 2026 due to coverage of a 2025–26 Women's FA Cup quarter-final.
Teatime Teasers also continued to vary in length sporadically throughout the series.
