Luke Selway was an octochamp and semi-finalist in Series 93 from East Grinstead, West Sussex. He was the Head of EMEA Consultant Relations for an investment management firm at the time of broadcast, having spent almost 25 years working in the industry. He is also an experienced Apterite, having joined the site in 2020 with virtually 20,000 games played to date.

Luke kicked off by dispatching returning contestant and fellow Apterite Euan Crabb on his debut with winning by 45 points, maxing eleven rounds and knocking up a century although Crabb got the last word by spotting the conundrum of CORIANDER. He then followed this with seven further victories, which were also all centuries. Of particular note that in his seventh game (having spotted LEVITATED during his third heat), he spotted three nines in that one game alone: UNLOADERS, GEOMATICS and DONATIVES.
He wrapped up with a personal low score of 101 in his eighth victory; despite scoring in the first thirteen rounds, he blanked out in the last two in which Brian Platts spotted the conundrum of AUTOPILOT. Regardless, this made him the fourth octochamp of Series 93 within two months and gave him a final total of 913 points. Colin Murray anointed him as "008", as a final testament for his achievements during his octorun.
Finals
After a strong series in 12.5 years and now sporting a full beard, he returned as the third seed to play against No. 6 seed Callum Ridley. Selway was on target early on, beating Ridley in the first numbers round and then spotting WASPIES in Round 7. "The Talent" did strike back after Luke had ☓ rugrat disallowed but Selway then got INCOMERS, and capitalised on a mis-declaration that Ridley made with ☓ monkie. All of this ultimately meant that Selway had established an unassailable lead before an easy final three-large numbers round. After neither of them spotted SIGNALMEN from NIGELNSAM, Selway scored a ninth century and moved onto the semi-final against Charlie Harrison.
Unfortunately for Selway, "The T-Rex" was on near-perfect form; the only points that Charlie dropped in the whole semi-final was in the third numbers round but he eventually built up a 22-point-lead before the second break. After both contestants spotted SEROTINES in Round 10, Luke wasn't able to close the gap and it was game over before the final numbers round. After Charlie cracked the former and spotted yet another difficult conundrum in CALENDRIC, Luke was officially eliminated from Series 93 which also saw him lose his all-century scoring record and his unbeaten streak. His final score of 86 was his lowest to date and he finished with a grand total of 1,101 from ten appearances (an average of just over 110 points a game).
