Series 93 heat games
The father of two made his debut with a low-scoring victory against Andy Watts, but then achieved three further victories plus two centuries. Unfortunately in his fifth game, he ran into returning contestant and fellow Apterite Patrick Thompson who dethroned Bashford thanks to a fourteen-max game although Tom did have the lead in Round 4.
Finals
In a long and strong series, Bashford's four wins and 463 points were eventually enough to qualify for the series finals as the eighth seed where coincidentally he was drawn back into a rematch against Patrick, who qualified as the No. 1 seed. Both players got off to a flyer by spotting DENIGRATE for nine, and Tom did take some points off Thompson when he spotted the Darrenic BUNIONS in Round five. Unfortunately, after that, Thompson eventually cruised to victory and registered 13 maxes, with the 54-point margin finalised when Patrick spotted the conundrum CHRYSALIS to defeat Bashford again. This officially ended his time on the show, with his lowest score to date of 64.
