8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 7, Episode 1 was a special episode broadcast on 3 May 2015, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 7.
8 Out of 10 Cats regular Sean Lock and Acting Team Captain Sarah Millican were the contestants, along with Bill Bailey and Rob Delaney who were their teammates, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.
Just before Round 5, Jimmy brought out Paul Foot ("who has a maths degree from Oxford") and Romesh Ranganathan ("a former maths teacher who got no points on the numbers on his last show") along to help the teams out, with Sarah choosing to take Romesh, giving Paul to Sean and Bill.
The match saw Sean Lock, with the assistance of Bill Bailey and Paul Foot, winning by 54 – 13 in an 8-rounder and they won a Countdown barbeque set.
Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Nina Conti, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent. Fabio, the show's model, was enlisted to help in Dictionary Corner throughout the entire show.
In Round 6, as Bill deliberately wanted the word TESTES, Rachel skipped the vowels in order until the F came out. Had he not asked for it, the selection would have been TUSTAFIGE in which the maximum, FATIGUES, would have been worth one point higher.
NOTE 1: In this version, all three players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
NOTE 2: For unknown reasons, the Conundrum reveal was done with the camera pointing at the actual board instead of using graphics to superimpose the letters.
