Charlie Higson played Rufus Hound, with Rufus Hound winning 78 – 70, in a rearranged 14-rounder. The Dictionary Corner guest was Anna Richardson, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
Following on from her tips during the previous celebrity programme, Rachel Riley demonstrated and explained the 4-large solution of James Martin in Round 4 of Episode 1962, then made the 4-large selection for Round 2. She also selected 4 large in Round 13, this time without conferring with the players as on the previous show.
Hound was asked to declare his word first in Round 10, though it was longer than Higson's.
