Series 88 is the currently running series Countdown, and the fourth series to feature Colin Murray as presenter. It began on 30th June 2023, and will conclude in December.
Adrian Clarke, who won the final preliminary match of Series 87, returned to continue his run in the first heat of this series.
This series will see former presenter Jeff Stelling in Dictionary Corner for one week, marking his first appearance on the show since he left in 2011.
Episode 8056 was broadcast five minutes earlier to accommodate "Live: F1 British GP Practice 2".
