Harry Savage played Sandra Ring, with Harry Savage winning 130 – 21. The Dictionary Corner guest was Edith Bowman, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
Savage's performance was a Jos game, since he was beaten only by two unsolved rounds.
Notably, Savage also performed a Rubik's cube solve blindfolded, as he had promised to do if he gained octochampdom. According to Murray, he achieved this in around 20 seconds.
